Overview
The TAC3 kit is the top of the Navitas range for the 48V E-Z-GO TXT. It removes the DC motor and the Curtis 1206HB controller and replaces them with a 7.5kW Navitas AC motor driven by an 850A TAC3 controller. That is a big step up in torque and hill climbing over a stock TXT.
The controller is sealed to IP65, tunes over Bluetooth in the Navitas app, and has an integrated CAN bus that can talk to compatible smart lithium batteries. It suits owners building a fast, heavy or lifted TXT, and custom projects that started life on the 1206HB system.
With this much power on tap, the battery pack and cabling matter. Plan the build around a pack that can supply the current, and ask us if you are unsure.

Requirements and install notes
This is a full drivetrain conversion. The DC motor and the stock controller both come out, and the Navitas 7.5kW AC motor and TAC3 850A controller go in.
The TAC3 system is built for high performance use. Make sure the battery pack, main cables and connections are in good condition and able to supply the current an 850A controller can demand.
Disconnect the battery pack and discharge the controller before you touch any terminal. Follow the Navitas installation manual step by step.
Settings are adjusted in the Navitas app over Bluetooth, and the CAN bus supports communication with compatible smart lithium batteries.
Plan on a half day or more for a first-time install. If you are not comfortable working on a 48V traction system, have the kit installed by a qualified golf cart technician.
