Keeping a Star EV healthy
Star EV offers both lead-acid and lithium packs depending on model and year, so maintenance depends on which one your unit has:
- Lead-acid packs need regular watering, clean and tight terminals, and a periodic load test to catch a weak cell before it strands you.
- Lithium packs skip watering entirely; the priority is keeping the BMS healthy and avoiding long storage at very low charge.
- Keep the charger receptacle clean and check the charger’s indicator lights each cycle for early fault warnings.
- Run the usual mechanical checks: tire pressure and wear, brakes, and suspension bushings.
