Overview
This is the Navitas TAC2 600A conversion kit for E-Z-GO MPT and Workhorse (1268 ITS) carts, supplied with the 5kW AC motor. It replaces Curtis 1268 or 1264 ITS throttle controls.
This is a full DC to AC conversion. The AC system gives noticeably more speed and torque than the DC drive it replaces, and it is more efficient, so the same pack goes further on a charge.
This is the CAN version of the kit. It ships a CAN enabled control, which joins the data network your cart already uses to pass information between the controller, dash and charger. The manufacturer also builds a non-CAN version of this kit for carts without that network.
The two are the same motor and the same amp rating. The only difference is the control. If you are not sure which your cart uses, send us the cart make, model and year and a photo of the existing controller and we will tell you which version to order.
Programming and live diagnostics are done through the Navitas app on a phone or tablet. Dealer level app access is available for qualified customers.

Requirements and install notes
The controller must be programmed with the Navitas app before the cart will drive. A smartphone or tablet is required.
Fitting the AC motor means pulling the old DC motor. Budget for a full afternoon and have the cart on jack stands.
Disconnect the battery pack and discharge the old controller before you touch any terminal.
Check the main battery cables, terminals and solenoid before installation. A conversion puts more current through them than the DC system did.
If you are not comfortable working on a traction system at this voltage, have the kit installed by a qualified golf cart technician.
FAQ
Which E-Z-GO carts does this kit fit?
The 48V E-Z-GO MPT and Workhorse with the Curtis 1268 or 1264 ITS controller. It does not fit a cart that already runs AC.
Does the kit include a motor?
Yes. It is a full DC to AC conversion: the 5kW Navitas AC motor replaces the DC motor, and the TAC2 600A controller, the On-The-Fly programmer and the mounting hardware come with it. Check the battery cables, terminals and solenoid first, because AC puts more current through them.
Should I choose 600A or 440A?
600A with the 5kW motor is the one for heavy hauling and steep grades. For normal loads, the 440A 4kW version is enough.
How do I set it up?
The controller is programmed in the Navitas app on a phone or tablet, over Bluetooth, before the cart will drive. After that, the On-The-Fly programmer changes speed, acceleration and regenerative braking from the seat, with a key lock to hold your settings.

Navitas kits carry a 24 month warranty from the ship date, handled through our distribution partner. Proof of purchase is required.
