Choosing a Navitas or Alltrax AC controller

This page includes bare Navitas TAC2 and TAC3 AC units and Alltrax AC1 650A units. Each is a like-for-like replacement only when the matching controller family and application is already on the cart. For Navitas, match the 10-000XXX-XX number. For Alltrax AC1, match the full 88-AC1-72650 application and connector, especially RXV 23 pin versus 35 pin. The matching harness, motor and cables already on the cart stay.

Each title names the cart or the stock controller the unit was built around, such as the E-Z-GO RXV with a Curtis 1206AC or Danaher controller, the E-Z-GO S4 and L6 with a Curtis 1234SE, the Club Car IQ and Excel, the Yamaha G29 Drive and Drive2, the ICON NEOS, Columbia Par Car and Kandi Kruiser. If the stock AC controller on an RXV, S4, L6, Drive2 or ICON has died, the TAC2 AC controller kit for that cart in conversion kits is the part built to replace it.

TAC2 440A, TAC2 600A or TAC3 850A

  • TAC2 440A. Two riders, flat or gentle ground, and less demand on the pack and cables.
  • TAC2 600A. A rear seat, a lift with bigger tires, towing light loads or regular hills.
  • TAC3 850A. Listed for Club Car (Curtis 1510/1515), E-Z-GO TXT (Curtis 1206HB) and Yamaha G29 Drive carts converted with the TAC3 7.5kW kit. It only makes sense when the pack, cables and brakes are built for the extra current.

Before you order

Write down the fault code before you unplug anything, because a key cycle can clear it. Most codes name an input, such as the throttle, brake or pack voltage, rather than the controller itself. AC Controllers FAQ

Will a TAC2 controller convert my DC cart to AC?

Not on its own. A bare TAC2 replaces a Navitas AC controller that is already on the cart. To take a DC cart to AC you need a DC to AC conversion kit, which brings the AC motor, the controller and the harness together.

How do I match a Navitas AC controller to my cart?

Buy the same 10-000XXX-XX number that is printed on the front of the unit that failed. Two controllers for the same cart can differ in rating or CAN version, so the number is what decides it, not the cart name.

What is the difference between TAC2 and TAC3?

The TAC2 comes in 440A and 600A ratings. The TAC3 is the 850A controller from the Navitas 7.5kW conversion kits, built for heavy carts, steep ground and towing on a pack and cables sized for it.

Do I need to program a replacement TAC2?

Set it up in the Navitas app before the first drive. If the cart has an On-The-Fly programmer, it plugs into the replacement; if it does not, the app does the same job.
