Overview
This Navitas TAC2 440A controller is the replacement control unit for the E-Z-GO S4 and L6 running 48V to 72V. It is supplied with the control module, manufacturer part number 10-000878-05.
It is sold on its own, without a conversion kit, motor or mounting hardware. It is the part to order when you are replacing a failed or damaged Navitas TAC2 controller, or when you already have the rest of the system and need the control unit only. Programming and live diagnostics are done through the Navitas app on a phone or tablet.
This controller must be programmed before the cart will drive. The manufacturer programming steps are in the manuals below, and the job needs a smartphone or tablet with the Navitas app.
Navitas builds a number of closely related control units for different carts and factory controllers. Send us your cart make, model, year and a photo of the controller label and we will confirm this is the right part before you order.

Requirements and install notes
The controller must be programmed with the Navitas app before the cart will drive. A smartphone or tablet is required.
Record the serial number from the body of the controller before you install it. It is far easier to read before the controller is mounted.
Disconnect the battery pack and discharge the old controller before you touch any terminal.
Check the main battery cables, terminals and solenoid before installation.
If you are not comfortable working on a traction system at this voltage, have the controller installed by a qualified golf cart technician.
FAQ
How do I know this is the right TAC2 controller for my cart?
Match the part number. If your cart already runs a Navitas TAC2, order the listing with exactly the same 10-000XXX-XX number as the label on the old unit. This one is 10-000878-05. The number fixes the rating, the CAN version and the cart, so it settles the question better than the cart name or the year.
Does it need programming before the cart will drive?
Yes. Every Navitas replacement controller is set up in the Navitas app on a phone or tablet before the cart will drive, and the steps are in the manuals on this page. Write down the serial number on the controller body before you mount it. Speed and acceleration switches at the seat need the On-The-Fly programmer, which is sold separately.
Where is the TAC2 wiring diagram?
In the Navitas TAC2 Installation and Service Manual, under Manuals and documents on this page. It has the wiring, the install steps for each cart and the parts lists. The Troubleshooting Guide covers the flash codes.
Can I use this controller to convert a DC cart to AC?
Not on its own. This is the control unit only, without the motor, mounting plate, hardware or cables a conversion needs, so a DC cart going to AC needs a complete DC to AC conversion kit. To keep the DC motor and get more power, the part is a Navitas TSX 3.0 kit.
Warranty
Navitas TAC2 controllers carry a 24 month warranty from the ship date, handled by us. Proof of purchase is required. Labour, damage from incorrect installation, wrong voltage, overload and non-OEM part substitution are not covered. See our returns and refunds policy for the full process.
