Overview
The 48V E-Z-GO TXT with a Curtis 1206HB controller is one of the most common carts on the road, and one of the most rewarding to convert. This Navitas kit replaces the DC motor and the stock controller with a Navitas AC motor and a CAN enabled TAC2 controller.
Owners notice the change on the first hill: stronger torque, a higher top speed within the limits you set, and regenerative braking that holds speed on the way down. The AC system is also more efficient, which means more run time from the same batteries.
The kit ships with the motor, controller, TXT interface module, On-The-Fly programmer, mounting plate and hardware, a run/tow switch mounting plate, and the motor phase and sensor cables. Choose 440A with a 4kW motor or 600A with a 5kW motor.

Requirements and install notes
This is a full drivetrain conversion. The DC motor and the stock controller both come out, and the Navitas AC motor and TAC2 controller go in.
Disconnect the battery pack and discharge the controller before you touch any terminal. Follow the Navitas TAC2 installation manual step by step.
Check the main battery cables, terminals and solenoid before installation. Worn wiring limits what any AC system can deliver.
The On-The-Fly programmer lets the driver adjust speed, acceleration and regenerative braking on the move, with a key lock to hold the settings. Deeper settings are adjusted in the Navitas app over Bluetooth.
Plan on a half day or more for a first-time install. If you are not comfortable working on a 48V traction system, have the kit installed by a qualified golf cart technician.
A run/tow switch mounting plate is included for the TXT installation.

Which E-Z-GO carts does this kit fit?
The 48V lead-acid E-Z-GO TXT with the Curtis 1206HB controller. It does not fit a TXT ELiTE with factory Samsung lithium, a 36V TXT, or an RXV, which is already AC.
Does the kit include a motor?
Yes. Choose 440A with a 4kW motor or 600A with a 5kW motor. Both kits have the TAC2 CAN controller, TAC2 module, On-The-Fly programmer, mounting kit, run/tow switch plate, motor phase cable and motor sensor cable.
How do I check my controller?
Read the controller label. It must say Curtis 1206HB. A different label means a different kit.
How do I set it up?
The controller is programmed in the Navitas app on a phone or tablet, over Bluetooth, before the cart will drive. After that, the On-The-Fly programmer changes speed, acceleration and regenerative braking from the seat, with a key lock to hold your settings.
