Overview
Club Car vehicles with the Curtis 1520 controller, including the Villager and Carryall, can move to AC with this Navitas kit. It replaces the DC motor and stock controller with a Navitas 5kW AC motor and a CAN enabled 600A TAC2 controller.
This is the heavy duty option in the Navitas range. The 600A controller and 5kW motor are sized for carts that carry people or cargo every day, and regenerative braking helps control speed on descents with a load on board.
The kit includes the motor, controller, On-The-Fly programmer, speed sensor and motor temperature harness, mounting plate and hardware, and the motor phase and sensor cables.

How to confirm it fits
Read the controller label. It should be a Curtis 1520, or a Curtis 1268 without ITS.
Check the frame. If there is any chance it is a DS frame, contact us before ordering because the 5kW motor may not fit.
Use the Club Car serial lookup to confirm model and year.

Requirements and install notes
This is a full drivetrain conversion. The DC motor and the stock controller both come out, and the Navitas AC motor and TAC2 controller go in.
Disconnect the battery pack and discharge the controller before you touch any terminal. Follow the Navitas TAC2 installation manual step by step.
Check the main battery cables, terminals and solenoid before installation. Worn wiring limits what any AC system can deliver.
The On-The-Fly programmer lets the driver adjust speed, acceleration and regenerative braking on the move, with a key lock to hold the settings. Deeper settings are adjusted in the Navitas app over Bluetooth.
Plan on a half day or more for a first-time install. If you are not comfortable working on a 48V traction system, have the kit installed by a qualified golf cart technician.
The 5kW motor may be too long for a DS frame.

Navitas TAC2 AC systems carry a 24 month warranty from the ship date, handled by us. Proof of purchase is required. Labour, damage from incorrect installation, wrong voltage, overload and non-OEM part substitution are not covered. See our returns and refunds policy for the full process.
