Overview
The Curtis 1510AS-5350 is a new 48V, 350A controller for Club Car Precedent carts with the IQ system. IQ carts are built with a Curtis 1510 or 1510A controller, and this is a 350A high current version for added torque.
It reads the 5k-0 three-wire MCOR throttle and connects through the cart's 16-pin controller plug. Your harness, solenoid, speed sensor and motor stay in place.
It suits an IQ cart with a failed controller, or one that needs more pull on hills and with a full load than the standard controller gives.

How to confirm it fits
Read the label on your controller. A Curtis 1510 or 1510A means the IQ system.
Look at the plugs: an IQ controller has one 16-pin vehicle plug and a 4-pin programmer port.
Excel carts carry a Curtis 1515 and take the Curtis 1515S controller instead.
Send us a photo of the label if it is hard to read and we will match it for you.

Requirements and install notes
Switch the cart to Tow and disconnect the battery pack before you touch any terminal.
Check the motor with an ohmmeter first, with the motor disconnected: A1 to A2 between 0.3 and 1 ohm, F1 to F2 between 1 and 2 ohms, A1 to F1 open, and F1 to the motor case above 5 megohms. A motor outside those ranges will damage a new controller.
Check the main solenoid: the coil should read no less than 100 ohms, and the closed contacts less than 0.3 ohm. A tired solenoid is worth replacing while the controller is out.
If the solenoid has a suppression diode, its non-banded side goes to the blue and white wire from controller pin 12.
Check the harness connectors for corroded, loose, burnt or missing pins before you plug them in.
With the charger unplugged, pin 5 has to read above 30V or the controller stays off. If it does not, the on-board computer may be asleep: put the cart on charge for a minute, unplug it and check again.
Throttle check with the controller plugged in: pin 1 reads 5V, and pin 2 reads about 0.5V with the pedal up, rising to 5V with the pedal down.
FAQ
Is this the same as my stock controller?
It is the 1510A family the IQ system uses, in a 350A rating. It connects the same way and is built as a high current unit for added torque.
How do I tell IQ from Excel?
By the controller label. IQ carts carry a Curtis 1510 or 1510A. Excel carts carry a Curtis 1515.
Which throttle does it work with?
The 5k-0 three-wire MCOR. With the controller connected, the throttle signal on pin 2 reads about 0.5V with the pedal up and 5V with the pedal fully down.
Do I need to change the solenoid too?
Test it first. The coil should read no less than 100 ohms and the closed contacts under 0.3 ohm. If it fails either test, replace it while the controller is out.
Warranty
This part is new and covered by our returns and refunds policy. We handle any claim for a defective part directly with you. A controller damaged by a shorted motor, a failed solenoid or incorrect wiring is not covered, which is why the checks above come first.
