01 //What this golf cart value calculator does

This golf cart value calculator estimates what a used cart is really worth right now — both the private-sale range you could list it for and the lower dealer trade-in a shop would offer. Pick your brand, model, and year, then refine by condition, battery health, and any modifications. The numbers are anchored to real aggregated listing data, not a guess.

Most “blue book” lookups don’t cover golf carts. We built our own pricing model from thousands of live and recently-sold listings across Golf Cart Resource, ATV Trader, Equipment Trader, and dealer inventory feeds, then layered on a depreciation curve so every model year gets a fair figure.

02 //How golf carts depreciate

A new golf cart loses roughly 18% in the first year, then about 8–10% per year after that, before flattening onto a usable-cart floor. Unlike a car, a 12-year-old cart with good batteries still holds real value because the platform barely changes. Here is the retention curve our calculator uses, shown against a $10,000 cart:

AgeValue Retained$10k Cart
0 yrs100%$10,000
1 yr82%$8,200
2 yrs74%$7,400
3 yrs67%$6,700
4 yrs61%$6,100
5 yrs55%$5,500
6 yrs50%$5,000
7 yrs46%$4,600
8 yrs42%$4,200
10 yrs37%$3,700

This is why a 5-year-old cart typically sells around 55% of its original price, while battery condition can swing the final number by $1,000 or more either way.

03 //What moves a cart’s value most

  • Battery type & age. A fresh lithium pack can add 20%+; tired lead-acid batteries subtract just as much.
  • Condition. Excellent vs rough is roughly a 45% spread on the same model year.
  • Modifications. Lift kits, street-legal packages, rear seats, and custom wheels each add value — our tool stacks them (capped at +30%).
  • Power type. Electric carts with healthy packs generally out-resell gas in residential markets.

04 //Trade-in vs private sale

Expect a dealer trade-in to land roughly 62–78% of private-party value — they need margin to recondition and resell. Selling it yourself nets more but takes time and effort. The calculator shows both so you can decide. Want to know exactly what model and year you have first? Run our serial number decoder, then come back here.

05 //Use the value with our other tools

Once you know the value, see the full picture: the lithium savings calculator shows whether a battery upgrade pays off before you sell, and our buyer guides walk through new vs used and what a cart should cost. Every figure here is transparent: we show the sample size and the date the data was last refreshed right under your result.

Our database currently covers 18 of the most-listed models across E-Z-GO, Club Car, Yamaha, ICON, Evolution, Star EV, Cushman, Bintelli, and Advanced EV, with per-model year-by-year price tables linked from each result. We refresh the listing data regularly so your estimate reflects the current market, not last year’s.
