Choosing an Eco Battery kit
Eco Battery DC to AC kits replace a cart's DC motor and controller with an AC system rated for 36V to 90V. Each kit comes with a preassembled harness and the cables for the install, and each is built for one chassis:
- Club Car: DS and Villager before 2004, Precedent IQ 2004 to 2008, Precedent, Tempo and Onward 2009 and later, and the extended 6-passenger chassis before 2004, 2004 to 2008 (IQ) and 2009 and later.
- E-Z-GO: Medalist and TXT, standard or extended wheelbase, 2 to 6 passenger.
- Yamaha: 2 to 4 passenger carts.
Year and seating both matter on a Club Car, so match both to the title. The serial number lookup confirms the model year from the serial plate.
Controller and motor options
Most kits offer four drive packages: a 350A controller with a 4kW motor, 450A with 4kW or 5kW, or 600A with 5kW. The 2004 to 2008 IQ 6-passenger kit offers three, with the 450A paired to the 5kW motor. The smaller packages suit two riders on flat ground; the 600A 5kW package is for rear seats, lifts and hills. The controller amp calculator sizes it for your weight and terrain.
A new AC system pulls more current than stock, so check the pack with the battery voltage chart first. For Eco Battery next to the Navitas kits, cart by cart, read A Beginner's Guide to Choosing a Golf Cart Conversion Kit. Every kit we sell is in conversion kits.
Eco Battery FAQ
Which Eco Battery kit fits my Club Car?
Match the chassis and year in the title: DS and Villager before 2004, Precedent IQ 2004 to 2008, or 2009 and later, with separate kits for the 6-passenger carts. The serial number lookup gives the year.
What voltage does an Eco Battery kit run on?
The kits are rated for 36V to 90V systems. Each product page states the voltage for the cart it fits.
350A, 450A or 600A?
350A with a 4kW motor suits light use on flat ground. 450A with 4kW or 5kW covers most everyday carts. 600A with 5kW is for heavy carts, rear seats, lifts and hills.
