Overview
E-Z-GO 48V vehicles with the ITS system use a Curtis 1268 ITS or 1264 controller with a DC series motor. This Navitas kit replaces both with a Navitas 4kW AC motor and a 440A TAC2 controller.
For these vehicles the conversion is about usable torque and control. The TAC2 lets you set speed, acceleration and regenerative braking, and the On-The-Fly programmer puts the common adjustments on a dash knob with a key lock.
The box includes the motor, controller, speed sensor and motor temperature harness, mounting plate and hardware, motor phase cable and the On-The-Fly programmer.

Requirements and install notes
This is a full drivetrain conversion. The DC motor and the stock controller both come out, and the Navitas AC motor and TAC2 controller go in.
Disconnect the battery pack and discharge the controller before you touch any terminal. Follow the Navitas TAC2 installation manual step by step.
Check the main battery cables, terminals and solenoid before installation. Worn wiring limits what any AC system can deliver.
The On-The-Fly programmer lets the driver adjust speed, acceleration and regenerative braking on the move, with a key lock to hold the settings. Deeper settings are adjusted in the Navitas app over Bluetooth.
Plan on a half day or more for a first-time install. If you are not comfortable working on a 48V traction system, have the kit installed by a qualified golf cart technician.
FAQ
Which E-Z-GO carts does this kit fit?
48V E-Z-GO ITS vehicles, such as the MPT and Textron utility models, with a Curtis 1268 ITS or 1264 controller. It does not fit a 48V TXT with the Curtis 1206HB (that needs the TXT kit) or an RXV, which is already AC.
Does the kit include a motor?
Yes. The Navitas 4kW AC motor replaces the DC series motor, and the TAC2 440A controller, On-The-Fly programmer, speed sensor and motor temperature harness, mounting plate, hardware and motor phase cable come with it.
How do I check my controller?
The controller label decides it: it must read Curtis 1268 or Curtis 1264.
How do I set it up?
The controller is programmed in the Navitas app on a phone or tablet, over Bluetooth, before the cart will drive. After that, the On-The-Fly programmer changes speed, acceleration and regenerative braking from the seat, with a key lock to hold your settings.
