Overview
This kit replaces the 26 pin Moric controller on a 48V Yamaha G29 Drive (YDRE) with a Curtis 1268 SepEx controller rated at 500A. The cart keeps its motor: the kit changes the controller and supplies the parts to connect and mount it.
With the controller come an adapter harness that plugs into the cart's 26 pin vehicle connector, a walk-away relay harness with its fuse, a mounting plate that fits where the Moric sat, a 2 gauge cable for the motor A2 post and a hardware kit.
The controller is programmed for your cart before it ships. After you order we email you to confirm your cart and pack voltage, so it arrives set up for it.
The 500A rating gives the cart more power and speed than the Moric controller it replaces, which shows most on hills and with a full load.

How to confirm it fits
Look at the controller under the rear access panel. A Moric controller with one 26 pin connector means this kit applies.
Check the pack voltage. Four 12V or six 8V batteries make a 48V pack.
Read the part number on the motor, so you know whether the brush note applies to your cart.
Send us a photo of the controller if you are unsure and we will match it for you.

Requirements and install notes
Before you start, switch to Tow, disconnect the battery positive cable and lift the rear wheels off the ground.
Tools: a 1/4 in. drive with a 6 in. extension, 7, 10, 13 and 14 mm and 3/8 in. sockets, and a 5/32 Allen wrench.
Remove the basket and the rear access panel, label every wire on the Moric controller, then take the controller out.
The mounting plate goes where the Moric sat, held by three flat head screws, and the 1268 bolts to the plate with four screws.
The black 6 gauge wire between B- and the motor A2 post comes off. The 2 gauge cable in the kit runs from the motor A2 post to the controller M- post.
Cut the two spade terminals off the motor field wires, strip 10 mm (3/8 in.) and crimp on the ring terminals supplied. If the cart runs backwards, swap F1 and F2.
The B-, B+ and M+ ring terminals from the old controller are drilled out to 8 mm (5/16 in.) to fit the 1268 posts. Step up through drill sizes slowly so the terminals are not damaged.
Plug the 24 pin and 6 pin connectors into the controller, the 26 pin connector into the vehicle harness and the 4 pin connector into the walk-away harness.
If your cart has motor JU2-H1890-21-00, used from 2007 to February 2012, fit Yamaha brushes JC1-H7104-09-00. The kit instructions say that without them top speed falls by about 7 mph after 5,000 to 7,000 amp hours of use.
FAQ
Which Yamaha carts does this kit fit?
The 48V Yamaha G29 Drive (YDRE) with the Moric controller and its 26 pin connector. G19 and G22 carts use a 23 pin connector, and Drive2 AC and gas carts are different systems.
Does the kit include a motor?
No. It is a controller kit and the cart keeps its own motor. Everything needed to connect and mount the new controller is in the box.
Do I need new motor brushes?
Only if your cart has motor JU2-H1890-21-00, used from 2007 to February 2012. For that motor the kit instructions advise Yamaha brushes JC1-H7104-09-00, so the cart keeps its top speed as the hours build up.
What do you need from me to program it?
We email you after the order to confirm your cart details, so the controller arrives set up for it.
Warranty
This part is new and covered by our returns and refunds policy. We handle any claim for a defective part directly with you. A controller damaged by a shorted motor, a failed solenoid or incorrect wiring is not covered, so it is worth testing the motor and solenoid before you fit the kit.
