When the plug is the problem

If your charger still works but its plug is cracked, burnt or loose, or you want to use an SB50 charger on a cart with a different receptacle, the part you need is a pigtail, not a new charger. Each pigtail adds five feet of cable, with an SB50 connector on the charger end and your cart's plug on the other.

Check the charger end first. These cables fit only a charger whose output lead ends in an SB50 connector. A pigtail carries no charge programming, so it never changes the charger's voltage or battery type; those must already match your pack.

Pick the cart end

  • Club Car. 48V 3-pin, or the 36V plug shared with the Yamaha G9, G14 and G16.
  • E-Z-GO. 36V, 48V, the 48V TXT plug, and the 48V ELiTE lithium plug.
  • Yamaha. The 2-pin G19 and G22 plug and the 3-pin Drive (YDRE) plug.
  • Star Car. 36V and 48V.
  • SB175 adapters. Gray SB50 to gray or red SB175, and gray SB350 to gray SB175, for carts converted to an SB175 charge connector.

Look at the receptacle on the cart and count its pins; the charger replacement guide has a row for every plug here. If the charger itself is the problem, see chargers, and start with why a golf cart charger will not charge to rule out the pack and the receptacle.

Charger Cables and Adapters FAQ

Will a pigtail cable fit my charger?

Only if the charger's output lead ends in an SB50 connector. The pigtail plugs into that SB50 and puts your cart's receptacle plug on the other end.

Does a pigtail change my charger's voltage or battery type?

No. It is cable and connectors only. The charger must already be set for your pack voltage and battery type.

How long is a pigtail cable?

Each one adds five feet of cable between the charger's SB50 connector and the cart plug.
