Real-world test drive

Do not decide from a parking-lot loop. Drive the cart from a stop, up a mild grade if possible, over imperfect pavement, and through a few full steering turns. Listen for rear axle whine, front-end clunks, brake scrape, tire rub, controller cutback, and hesitation under throttle.
