Choosing a J2 performance connector

These E-Z-GO J2 connectors set one fixed speed and braking profile on a 2000 to 2008 36V E-Z-GO with the Precision Drive System (PDS) controller. Each one plugs into the controller's J2 option port, with no programming, no laptop and no dealer tool.

  • Freedom, red (76-73272-G01). The fastest, about 17 to 19 mph, with no compression braking, so the cart coasts freely. For flat courses and recreational driving.
  • Mild Hill, yellow (76-73272-G03). About 14 to 14.5 mph with mild compression braking to hold the cart on descents.
  • Steep Hill, blue (76-73273-G02). About 13 to 13.5 mph with heavy compression braking, for steep or uneven ground.
  • All Terrain (76-73272-G04). The lowest top speed, about 13 to 13.5 mph, with no compression braking.

Check your cart first

They fit only 36V PDS carts with a J2 port. DCS, series and 48V carts cannot use them. The E-Z-GO serial number lookup confirms the year, and the controller label reads Curtis 1206MX on a PDS cart. If you want adjustable speed rather than a fixed profile, the Navitas TSX 3.0 kit for the PDS is in conversion kits.

E-Z-GO FAQ

Will a J2 connector fit my E-Z-GO?

Only a 2000 to 2008 36V E-Z-GO with the PDS controller and a J2 option port. They do not fit DCS, series or 48V carts.

Do J2 connectors need programming?

No. The profile is set by the connector itself. Plug it into the J2 port and the controller runs that profile.

Which J2 connector is fastest?

Freedom (red), at about 17 to 19 mph with no compression braking. Mild Hill and Steep Hill trade speed for braking on descents.
