Overview
Club Car DS and Precedent carts with the IQ system run a DC motor on a Curtis 1510 or 1515 controller. This Navitas kit replaces both, turning the cart into an AC drivetrain with a Navitas AC motor and a TAC2 controller. The result is stronger pull from a stop, better climbing, regenerative braking and more efficient use of the battery pack.
Every kit includes the motor, controller, Club Car interface module, On-The-Fly programmer, mounting plate and hardware, and the motor phase and sensor cables. Three ratings are offered: 440A with a 4kW motor, 600A with a 4kW motor, and 600A with a 5kW motor.
Match the rating to the frame. The 5kW motor is physically too long for the smaller DS IQ frame, so DS owners should choose one of the 4kW options. Precedent owners can choose any rating.

How to confirm it fits
Read the controller label. A Curtis 1510 or 1515 controller means an IQ system cart and this kit family applies.
Check the body style. On a DS frame, choose a 4kW option. On a Precedent, any option fits.
Use the Club Car serial lookup to confirm model and year, and send us a controller photo if anything does not match.

Requirements and install notes
This is a full drivetrain conversion. The DC motor and the stock controller both come out, and the Navitas AC motor and TAC2 controller go in.
Disconnect the battery pack and discharge the controller before you touch any terminal. Follow the Navitas TAC2 installation manual step by step.
Check the main battery cables, terminals and solenoid before installation. Worn wiring limits what any AC system can deliver.
The On-The-Fly programmer lets the driver adjust speed, acceleration and regenerative braking on the move, with a key lock to hold the settings. Deeper settings are adjusted in the Navitas app over Bluetooth.
Plan on a half day or more for a first-time install. If you are not comfortable working on a 48V traction system, have the kit installed by a qualified golf cart technician.
The 600A 5kW kit works with either MCOR or APPS throttle systems.
On E.R.I.C. equipped carts the dash display functions are replaced by the Navitas mobile app.
The 5kW motor is too long for the Club Car DS IQ frame.
FAQ
What changes when my cart goes from DC to AC?
The DC motor and the stock controller both come out, and a Navitas AC motor and TAC2 controller go in. The cart pulls harder from a stop, holds its speed better on climbs and gains regenerative braking, which slows it on the way down. The AC system is also more efficient, so you get more run time from the same batteries.
Is everything I need in the box?
Everything for the drive is: the AC motor, the TAC2 controller, the On-The-Fly programmer and the hardware to fit them. Before you start, check the battery cables, terminals and solenoid and replace anything worn or undersized, because an AC conversion puts more current through them than the DC system did.
Can I install it myself?
Yes, if you are comfortable working on a 48V traction system. It is a full drivetrain job: the old DC motor comes off, so plan on a half day or more for a first install, with the cart safely on jack stands. Disconnect the battery pack and discharge the old controller before you touch a terminal, then follow the Navitas TAC2 installation manual step by step. A golf cart technician can fit it if you would rather not.
How do I set the speed and acceleration?
The controller is set up in the Navitas app on a phone or tablet, over Bluetooth, before the first drive. After that, the On-The-Fly programmer in the kit changes speed, acceleration and regenerative braking from the driver seat, and a key lock holds your settings. Live diagnostics stay in the app.
Warranty
Navitas TAC2 AC systems carry a 24 month warranty from the ship date, handled by us. Proof of purchase is required. Labour, damage from incorrect installation, wrong voltage, overload and non-OEM part substitution are not covered. See our returns and refunds policy for the full process.
