Overview
The Albright SW202 is a forward and reverse contactor pair: two single pole double throw contactors on one bracket, supplied with the copper links that reverse a series-wound motor. It replaces a separate forward solenoid and reverse solenoid with one assembly.
The SW202-59 has 72/80V continuous duty coils and contacts rated up to 96V DC, with magnetic blowouts as standard. It suits an all-72V build where the forward and reverse coils are fed from the 72V side.
Albright rates the contacts 250A continuous and 450A at 30% duty. If both coils are energized at once, the contacts go open circuit instead of shorting the motor.

Does not fit
- 48V control circuits (use the 48V coil Albright SW202-41)
- SepEx and AC drive carts, whose controllers reverse the motor electronically and use no reversing contactors
- Installs that cannot keep battery positive on the + marked studs, because the blowout magnets are polarity sensitive

How to confirm it fits
Check the voltage of the circuit that feeds your forward and reverse coils: this is the 72/80V coil version.
Check the motor: the SW202 reverses a series-wound motor through its field. SepEx and AC carts do not use it.
Make sure your battery cable lugs fit M10 studs.
Send us a photo of your current forward and reverse solenoids and their wiring, and we will map the SW202 connections for you.

Requirements and install notes
Disconnect the battery pack before you start. Photograph and label the wiring on your old forward and reverse solenoids.
The SW202 is wired as a pair. Follow the connection diagram in the brochure below: the motor field connects across the two contactors, and the supplied links tie them together.
Observe polarity: the + markings on the top covers must face battery positive.
The coils are 72/80V continuous duty with 6 mm spade terminals. Crimp insulated female spade connectors onto the coil wires.
Measure the voltage that feeds the coil with the key on. Albright labels this coil for 72 to 80V. A full 72V lithium pack can sit above 80V, so if your reading is well above that, send it to us and we will check it.
Tighten the M10 main stud nuts to 13.4 to 14.6 Nm. If you mount it vertically, the main studs must point up. Keep switching on the normally open contacts: the normally closed side is not designed to make or break current.
FAQ
Which SW202 do I need, the 48V or the 72/80V coil?
Match the coil to the circuit that feeds it, not to the pack. If your forward and reverse coils run from a 48V tap, choose the SW202-41. If they run from the 72V pack, choose this SW202-59. Both have contacts rated to 96V DC.
Does it replace my separate forward and reverse solenoids?
Yes. One SW202 assembly does the work of the two, with the reversing links supplied. Follow the connection diagram, because the wiring differs from two separate 4-terminal solenoids.
Will the coil handle a fully charged 72V lithium pack?
Albright labels this coil 72/80V continuous. A full 72V lithium pack can read above 80V. Measure the coil voltage with the key on and send it to us if it reads well above 80V, and we will check it.
What happens if both coils are energized at once?
The contacts go open circuit, Albright's built-in failsafe, so the motor is not shorted.
Warranty
This part is new and covered by our returns and refunds policy. We handle any claim for a defective part directly with you. Albright does not publish a separate warranty term for this part. Damage from wrong coil voltage, reversed polarity or over-tightened terminals is not covered.
