Overview
The Albright SU280BP is a sealed main contactor: the P means it is built to IP66, the B means magnetic blowouts. Together they give contacts rated up to 96V DC in a housing that keeps out water and dust.
The SU280B-1490P has a 72V continuous duty coil and comes with its mounting bracket fitted. Albright rates it 250A interrupted and 350A uninterrupted, with 635A uninterrupted at 30% duty.
It suits a 72V cart where the main contactor sits low or in the open and gets wet. The blowouts make it polarity sensitive: the stud marked + goes to battery positive.

How to confirm it fits
Check the voltage that feeds the contactor coil: this is the 72V coil version.
Measure the mounting space: about 133 x 54 x 73 mm plus the bracket.
Make sure your battery cable lugs fit M10 studs.
Tell us your controller and its amp rating if you want us to check the choice between this and the SW200-21.

Requirements and install notes
Disconnect the battery pack before you start. The housing is sealed, so the contactor mounts only by its bracket; the frame holes are not accessible.
Observe polarity: the + marked main stud goes to battery positive, the other to the controller B+.
The coil uses 6.3 mm (0.25 in.) spade terminals. Before you connect them, look for + and - marks: Albright offers built-in coil suppression on this series, which makes the coil polarity sensitive. If the terminals are marked, wire them to match.
Measure the voltage that feeds the coil with the key on. Albright labels this coil for 72 to 80V. A full 72V lithium pack can sit above 80V, so if your reading is well above that, send it to us and we will check it.
Tighten the M10 main stud nuts to 13.4 to 14.6 Nm. If you mount it vertically, the main studs must point up.
FAQ
What do the B and P in SU280B-1490P mean?
B is magnetic blowouts, which raise the maximum contact voltage to 96V DC and make the contactor polarity sensitive. P is IP66 environmental protection.
How does it compare with the SW200-21?
Both have 96V DC contacts and continuous 72V-class coils. The SU280BP is sealed to IP66, smaller and lighter (about 805 g against 1400 g). The SW200 has the higher uninterrupted rating (400A against 350A).
Is the coil continuous duty?
Yes. The label reads 72V CO, Albright's mark for a continuously rated coil.
Will it handle a fully charged 72V lithium pack?
The contacts are rated to 96V DC. For the coil, measure its supply with the key on and send us the reading if it is well above 72V nominal, and we will check it.
Warranty
This part is new and covered by our returns and refunds policy. We handle any claim for a defective part directly with you. Albright does not publish a separate warranty term for this part. Damage from wrong coil voltage, reversed polarity or over-tightened terminals is not covered.
