Overview
This is the 48V main solenoid: the heavy switch that connects the battery pack to the controller and motor when you press the pedal. A tired one clicks without moving the cart, cuts out under load or runs hot.
The White Rodgers 586-120111 is the sealed, 4-terminal, continuous duty 48V version. Golf cart parts catalogs cross it to Club Car 1018836-01, Yamaha JR1-H1950-00 and JU6-H1950-00, and E-Z-GO 73231-G01 carts.
It uses the same body, bracket and studs as the 36V 586-117111, with a coil wound for 48V.

How to confirm it fits
Check the pack voltage: this is the 48V part.
Count the terminals on your old solenoid. Four terminals (two large, two small) means this is the right style.
Match the label or OEM number: White Rodgers 586-120111, Club Car 1018836-01, Yamaha JR1-H1950-00 or JU6-H1950-00, E-Z-GO 73231-G01.
Later Club Car DS and Precedent carts list OEM 101908701, which we have not matched to this part yet. Compare the bracket spacing (2.300 in.) and stud layout with your old solenoid, or send us a photo and we will check it for you.

Requirements and install notes
Disconnect the battery pack before you touch the solenoid. Photograph the wiring first so every cable goes back on the same stud.
The two large studs carry pack current. The two small #10-32 posts are the coil. Move them across one at a time.
Yamaha G19, G22 and Drive carts often feed the coil through a molded plug. Fit insulated ring terminals to those two wires rather than leaving a loose splice near the batteries.
Put the pre-charge resistor back across the large studs and the diode back across the small posts, striped end to the positive coil wire, if your cart had them. On a Navitas controller install, Navitas says to remove and discard both.
Tighten the large studs to no more than 60 in-lb and the coil posts to 12 to 18 in-lb. Mount it vertically with the coil terminals up.
On a 48V lithium pack, measure the voltage at the small posts with the pedal pressed. White Rodgers rates this coil to 110% of 48V (52.8V), and a full lithium pack can sit above that. Send us the reading and we will confirm the right coil.
FAQ
Does this fit a Club Car Precedent?
Precedents and later DS carts list OEM solenoid 101908701. Parts catalogs we checked cross the 586-120111 to the earlier 1995 to 1999 DS number (1018836-01), not to 101908701. Send us a photo of your solenoid and we will confirm the fit before you order.
Will it fit my Yamaha G29 or Drive?
Yes. Catalogs cross the 586-120111 to Yamaha JU6-H1950-00 and JR1-H1950-00, the 48V G19, G22 and G29 solenoids. Your coil wires may arrive in a plug, so plan to crimp ring terminals onto them.
Can I use a 36V solenoid on 48V?
No. The coil is voltage specific, and a 36V coil on 48V overheats. This 586-120111 has the 48V continuous coil.
Does it come with a resistor and diode?
No. Move the pre-charge resistor and diode over from your old solenoid if your controller uses them. Navitas controllers do not, and their manual says to remove them.
Warranty
This part is new and covered by our returns and refunds policy. We handle any claim for a defective part directly with you. White Rodgers does not publish a separate warranty term for this part. Damage from wrong coil voltage, reversed polarity or over-tightened terminals is not covered.
